A command-line minecraft server wrapper.

Warning This is alpha software. Use at your own risk!

Overview

Clicraft is a command-line wrapper for operation and administration of a minecraft-compatible server. It is written in bash and uses tmux or screen to daemonize and communicate with the server process.

Clicraft strives to be simple, robust, and useful. With it, you can:

  • Manage (start, stop, update) a minecraft-compatible server from the command line

  • Easily use third-party minecraft utilities (stop referring to --help output for basic options)

  • Programmatically or interactively send commands to the server console

  • Extend functionality by writing your own hooks called action scripts

Versions

Clicraft’s alpha or beta status is indicated by its version. Versions are denoted using a standard triplet of numbers of the form major.minor.revision. Internal pre-alpha releases have version number 0.0.z, where z is negative. Alpha releases use the same convention, except z is positive. Beta releases have version number 0.y.z, where y is positive, and regular full releases have version number x.y.z with x positive. This convention is summarized below.

Release       Versions
=======       ========
Internal      0.0.-9, 0.0.-8, 0.0.-7, ... 0.0.-z
Alpha         0.0.1, 0.0.2, 0.0.3, ... 0.0.z
Beta          0.1.0, 0.1.1, 0.1.2, ... 0.2.0, 0.2.1, 0.2.2, ... 0.y.z
Full          1.0.0, 1.0.1, 1.0.2, ... 1.1.0, ... 2.3.4, ... x.y.z

Within full releases, a revision will only change function implementations. Minor releases may additionally add new functions, options, and actions, so long as they don’t impact or change existing functionality. Major releases can change anything at all.
